There was a need to produce more chicken products, and the company saw it fit to add 22.600 square feet of space to this plant. After the additional space, the company will now have a production capacity of 24,000 tons for chicken products, a double increase from what was produced in the past- 12,000 tons.
The expansion of the facility was made necessary by an increase in consumers who are now taking chicken products. In the past one decade, there has been a consistent increase in this number a factor that has forced the company to act on the issue. OSI Food Solutions noted that the increase has become even more significant in the past three years. It shifted from 6 percent to 8 percent, and it looks like it will keep on rising in years to come. So, the initiative was made to meet the needs of the customers.
